Bungalow Sangria

The weather is starting to warm up here in Southern California and we are daydreaming for the afternoons when we can sit in the front yard and sip on some refreshing lime & raspberry sangria. We made a "sample" batch the other day just to make sure we are ready for the spring sunshine.

Here is our recipe...

1 Bottle of Sauvignon Blanc

1 Cup of Fresh Orange Juice

Juice of Two Lemons

3/4 Cup Sugar

Mint Leaves to Taste

Two Sliced Limes

1/2 Cup Fresh Crushed Raspberries (optional)

1 Cup Brandy (optional)

Lots of Ice

Enjoy!!

Grandma's Chair

We recently put together a home office for the talented photographer Kristen Vincent (check out her work here).

She provided us with a great wood chair that had wonderful details, perfect for our refinishing project. We sanded the chair down, spray painted it white, and then roughed up the edges for a shabby chic look.

Valentine's Day Cocktails!

This versatile cocktail recipe can take on many versions of itself....

This particular recipe calls for:

1 Part Ginger Ale

1 Part Pineapple Juice

1 Shot Malibu Rum (or 2 if you are in the mood to get saucy)

Sliced Blood Oranges for garnish

Served over ice

I love to use Trader Joe's mini cans of 100% Pineapple Juice because it tastes yummy and you can save the extra cans for cocktails another night!

I also like to use raspberries and mint in place of the blood oranges during Christmas or Valentine's Day if you want to change the colors of the drink. 

You can also line the rim with colored sugar and if you are hosting a children's party save the rum for yourself, you can make an adult cocktail after the clean up is over!
