Warm & Traditional Before & After

We took this teeny tiny, cramped kitchen and created an open floor plan in this coronado remodel.

Natural & Sophisticated Before & After

This wonderful family of 7 needed more space so we took their cramped dark living room, dining room and kitchen and created a bright, sophisticated space with natural tones.

The outdated stone floor with a black border was the first thing to go. It was replaced with gorgeous wood floors. Next came the 1990's wall unit. Removing this wall opened up the kitchen and eating area to the rest of the home.

What a transformation!

Rustic & Charming Living Room Before & After

This large living space needed some warmth and style. We painted the entertainment center wall a dark blue to create a cozy feeling. Removing the vertical blinds and replacing them with linen curtains from pottery barn helped to frame the large sliding doors and bring the outside in.

Guinness Cupcakes

This is one of our favorite St. Patrick's Day treats. How can you go wrong with Guinness, chocolate & frosting.

Here is the recipe...
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
1 bottle of stout beer (like Guinness)
1 stick butter, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3/4 cup sour cream
1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese, softened at room temperature
3/4 to 1 cup heavy cream
1 box (a pound) of confectioners' sugar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa, sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt.
In another medium mixing bowl, combine the stout beer, melted butter, and vanilla. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Mix in sour cream until thoroughly combined and smooth. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
Lightly grease 24 muffin tins or use cupcake wrappers. Divide batter equally between 24 muffin tins, filling each 3/4 full. Bake for 12 minutes each. Rotate pan and bake for another 12 to 13 minutes. Cool before frosting.
ICING
In a medium bowl with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese on medium speed until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the heavy cream. On low speed, slowly mix in the confectioners' sugar until incorporated and smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to use. Icing can be made several hours ahead and kept covered and chilled.

From Closet to Cozy Workspace

We came across this Instagram photo from Restyle Source and were inspired to create a similar space in our clients home. We loved the all white pallet and have used shades of white in previous projects but wanted a fresh mix of sophisticated and rustic elements to complete the space.

We spent Super Bowl Sunday cleaning, organizing and painting our clients closet, (and let's be honest, drinking a beer or two, we find it helps the creative juices flow). This is what the space looked like before we started...

Yes, we still get our hands dirty on some of our favorite projects!

First coat of paint done (on the bottom half anyway)

We did the same color application to her Mom's vintage chair and hand sanded the edges and seat to create a shabby chic look.

And finally... The finished product!

A beautiful work space on a dime!

Simple & Classic Before & After

What an amazing transformation from a dingy outdated space to a fabulous retreat!

We ripped out the carpet and replaced it with a dark bamboo flooring. We used two rich colors on the walls to create a warm inviting space. We furnished the bungalow with warm tones with hints of metallic. This space may be small but it is perfect for entertaining or snuggling up with a good book.
